You might have noticed that there has been no updates on the first suit I made for Robert.
The answer to that is that I thought I was done with the suit and had everything almost done. Collar in place. front line stitched, lining in. All I had to do was to have a fitting to see the arm length. On that fitting we noticed the suit as the 2:nd suit were not balances when I let the pins go that held together the suit as it’s buttons would. Center front overlapped 2,5 cm!
By that time I had done too much work to be able to correct the problem in the shoulders since the collar was all done. There was nothing else to do then to re-open the side seams and all the lining and remove the arms to shift the sides. Since in our time plan I was supposed to be done by now I had to do these alterations on my spare time to keep on track. On my spare time Santa’s stomach came in unannounced as a new assignment. Now that I have had the time 3 weeks later I did the alterations necessary and co-operated a new fitting with the fitting of suit 2 that needed an arm and collar overlook before finishing (more about that in another post).
There was also some problem with the vent not falling as smoothly as it should but with a bulge at the last stitch so center back was also re-open and taken care of.
On this last fitting the only problem I had was a new bulge in the arm seam. An easy fix.
Now I can finally finish of the suit and deliver it! And it looks great.
